Permanent Cosmetics
All Procedures appear much darker and thick when first done because of oxidation and swelling. Most procedures heal in 5-10 days and the final result is much softer and natural looking.

Permanent Cosmetics is one of the largest and highest demanded procedures for Southern Draw. Award winning artist, Rhonda Marsh, added this service to her business in 1997 in which she combined her cosmetology back round with her tattoo skills and found a completely new realm of business and thus broadening her already large clientele base.

Permanent Cosmetics is becoming increasingly more popular everyday. With procedures such as Eyeliner, Eyebrows and Full Lips, this method of tattooing makes it very convenient for ladies that are on the go or simply lack color or eyebrow hair to feel more self confident about their appearance. Imagine never worrying about your eyeliner smudging all over, or brows that won’t wipe off in the course of the day like pencils do, Lips that stay put and color that won’t bleed….. This is only a few of the benefits that Permanent Makeup offers.

Rhonda takes this side of her industry most seriously. She has worked closely with Plastic Surgeons and Dermatechnicians alike to better educate the public on this type of service and to offer her clients the best products in the Permanent Cosmetics field today.

Rhonda has received world wide recognition for this service and writes many articles for various tattoo magazines and newspapers to better educate the public and her fellow artists. “It’s extremely important that people stay educated in this type of tattooing, as times and products are consistently changing, and there are a lot of “get rich quick” schemes offered by Permanent Cosmetics schools that take advantage of our industry and students looking to get started in this area of tattooing as a profession”. She states. Rhonda has very strong opinions on the poor quality training that is offered in this area of her industry and is not afraid to air her grievances. “Clients looking to receive this type of service need to be very careful in choosing a dermatechnician. Most of these clients have no idea that a lot of these technicians are not required much training and most permanent cosmetics schools are only 3 days to a week long, which is absolutely ridiculous… and dangerous. The public needs to inquire about the training of the technician. They need to ask to see the technicians portfolio of his/her work, possible testimonials from previous clients, what pigments they use and more” She warns. “You wouldn’t want to go in for brain surgery and have the resident surgeon doing your procedure, would you?” she adds “Just because they have a license to practice, doesn’t mean that they are necessarily very qualified”.

Rhonda has done much research in the pigments that are used for this type of service and offers her clients pure organic pigments that stay true to color with little to no touch ups. Please see the section below to read more about the pigments and anesthetics that are used in permanent cosmetic procedures. “The brand of pigments that a technician uses makes ALL the difference in their results.”

Rhonda holds several free information seminars to the local public in her area as well as gives information seminars and training courses to her fellow tattoo artists in the convention circuit that she works.

Rhonda also does Areola restorations for breast cancer patients and is consistently referred by various local plastic surgeons for this service. “It is the most rewarding service that I offer” she states, adding “because you are doing a big part on helping these ladies resume normalcy after a long stressed out battle that they’ve endured. It’s awesome to be able to be a part of that rebuilding process.”

Rhonda invites you to Email her or call her office if you have any questions regarding these procedures. Consultations are always free and all work that Rhonda does is personally guaranteed. To learn more about Pigments and Anesthetics and the importance that they play, please read on:

About Pigments

Iron Oxide: (Inorganic)

Many Interdermal Cosmetic Technicians use Iron Oxide based pigments (colors). Originally, Iron Oxide pigments were the only pigments that were proven to be safe to use on the delicate facial tissue, with less allergic reactions or side effects.

However,

Iron Oxide can cause serious pain or burning when receiving an MRI.

Iron Oxide pigments do not stay permanently, thus giving clients only a semi-permanent procedure.

The body will naturally absorb the iron (especially in women, once a month, and all the time for iron deficient or anemic patients) and the procedure will quickly start to fade.

Lip colors almost never take, and require multiple touch ups with poor results consistently.

We Recommend & Use:

Non Iron Oxide: (Organic)

For the simple reasons stated above, we prefer to use organic pigments that do not contain Iron Oxide. We use a variety of high quality organic pigments, which are pure pigment based, hypoallergenic, MRI safe, and best of all FADE RESISTANT!! We do recommend that potential clients receive a patch test 24-48 hours prior to scheduled procedure to insure that you do not have an allergic reaction to the pigment. Allergic occurrences are very rare, but can occur. Organic pigments benefit clients better in the following ways:

Lip colors stay true and bright, and require no touch up!

Brows that you can depend on, and stay true to color.

Widest variety of colors made.

We use colors from manufacturers such as John Hashey, Arty Joe, Premier Pigments, Millennium Color Corp, and Starbrite.

Anesthetics:

All procedures are done with a very effective topical anesthetic called Dermacaine. Anesthetic times vary depending on procedure.

PATIENTS ALLERGIC TO NOVOCAIN OR ANY CAINE BASED PRODUCTS SHOULD NOT HAVE THESE SERVICES DONE.

Guarantee/Touch Ups:

All work is guaranteed, and touch ups are free depending on after care taken and no changes to actual procedure itself. (Thickening, change of color, etc.)

Eyebrows are always going to need to be touched up one time due to oiliness in forehead skin. Eyebrows can not be made to look like hair strokes, shaded brows only (looks exactly like eyebrow pencil) hairline strokes do not hold up over time.

Lasting Time:

The procedures are expected to last 5-8 years depending on sun exposure and skin care routines.

Risks Involved:

Clients prone to cold sores or fever blisters need to be on a prescription drug called Zorvirax or Valtrex the day before procedure and a week thereafter. Doing procedure without this prescription will result in onset of cold sores/ fever blisters and loss of color in those areas. This means even if they have not had a cold sore in 10 years, the herpes virus lays dormant in the systems.

Patch Test:

A patch test is recommended 24-48 hours before procedure, but client may sign a waiver releasing us of responsibility to allergic reaction if they choose not to do the patch test. Any clients that have had a tattoo and had an allergic reaction to the pigment, or has severe allergies in general will be required to do the patch test.

What To Bring With You:

Client should bring in their favorite eyebrow pencil, lip liner or lipstick, or eyeliner pencil when coming in to get procedure so that we can match up the color. All colors are matte and most colors can be matched almost perfectly or very close. Wide variety of colors to choose from, or can mix up color to suite client.
